Hi, I’m Teru… or otherwise NyaKawaiiBalls. I’m an Australian Korean INTP teen who unquestionably dislikes school and is surviving off of my computer (im not a loser okay i still like going outside). My online appearance may make me look like an interesting person but in reality, no - I am probably one of the most boring and average people you could meet actually. As I’m writing this, I am STRUGGLING to think of what to type down cuz there's legit nothing about me...

When I was a kid, I played this mobile game called "Cat Room" (i loveeed cats so ofc i did anything related to them), where you just take care of cute cats in a room you can decorate. When you first start the game, you had to enter your room name/username. I couldn't think of anything so I asked my mum and that was when "Teru" was born. Till now, I have always used this as my personal online name!

Now NKB is a bit strange. In 2023, I had the most bizarre humour cuz I would put something related to balls as my Roblox display name... are we deadass 2023 me? wrinklenuts, ihave_noballs, kawaiiballs - wait yo that last one kinda fire, but it felt a bit empty. Maybe add "nya" at the start (cuz its kawaii after haha get it) and that was how NyaKawaiiBalls magnetised itself to me. I use this name for "official" stuff like labelling digital art/anims though.

Art/drawing has been part of me for a while now; I remember my early days of life where I drew distorted stickmen with incomprehensible English/Korean captions and griefed my older sister’s English notes with drawings of Anpanman. Nowadays I draw…. uh, Roblox characters? Yeah whatever, you can look at me weirdly because I should be drawing anime or semi-realism like the other young artists. Anyway, I’ve had almost 8 years of doing fine art classes and digital art. I started off digital art from… being inspired by MLP and PPG speedpaints on YT. Including the creepypasta ones. My sisters probably thought I came out of the womb mentally warped as I carefully slid the mouse to create the bloody masterpiece with MS Paint on the family computer.

Then came the 2017 - 2019 animation memes. And also Alan Becker and BFDI. I watched everything and formed that spark of “I wanna do that too!”… but one-digit year old me did not have the brain power nor hidden child talent of creating such things. That’s okay lil Teru, because you grew up into big Teru and utilised your decently developed self to use After Effects and Blender and for some reason every other animation app you could dig up (with the power of inspiration and jealousy). Animating is also one of my core hobbies along with art cuz its um, fun yay! And yes who would’ve guessed, of COURSE I animate Roblox characters. You’re now gonna say it’s wasted talent or something…

Coding probably came from my dad's genes, since he's a professional computer person and mathematician. Well, I have an interest for the digital, computer and internet world so yeah. I'm currently practising Python, HTML/CSS and look forward to learning Javascript. I started off with Scratch when I was 9 and Python at 10, but uh, I'm still not the best at Python till this day... I mean at least I'm a master at block coding haha...

Now video gaming. Thank heavens that this hobby has reduced itself to a "twice a month leisure" cuz bro I was actually a loser. I got my first taste of gaming from watching my sister play Ace Attorney on her Nintendo 3DS. Then stealing it to play Legend of Zelda. Gameplay was tragic of course because my brain was the size of a cashew. Minecraft Bedrock was my first computer game, I remember playing on the free trial version on the family computer. My dad was nice enough to buy the full version for me later on and I built stuff in creative and played in those default servers. I moved onto MC Java though, bcuz of Hypixel and it's just better. In 2020, my friend from Singapore wanted me to play Roblox with them for their birthday. I knew what this game was from the very beginning, but never wanted to join it because my other friends told me about all the crappy stuff that happened on there. But oh well, I made an account and played Clone Tycoon 2 with that friend. "Hang on, why this kinda fun??" I think to myself after playing, as I go straight back to MC Java to play Skyblock... Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, my other friends convinced me to play Roblox with them, and now THAT'S when my Roblox phase actually emerged. 2021 - 2024, I'd play it more by myself. Genshin Impact and HSR slipped in too (okay i actually hated these games in the end tho). All those hobbies I mentioned earlier? Nahhh forget bout them, js lemme play Arsenal :peace:
Although I wouldn't consider it an addiction bcuz I still maintained a healthy life, yeeeeah my gaming phase was bad. But after not having friends available to play with after school and realising how it will literally do nothing meaningful for me in the future, I eventually eased down and replaced my free time with the other hobbies. Till this day, people assume that I'm gonna just rot in my room and play games each holiday, I do not want to be known for that.

For some reason I struggle to answer this DAMN QUESTION.

I listen to genres usually from the EDM space. Hardstyle, Happy Hardcore, Dubstep, Eurobeat and Jumpstyle are the ones I find nice. And no, I don't listen to particular artists, it's just random.

I used to love roleplaying. Back when I played MC Bedrock, I roleplayed in the Mineville High School Server. I still remember this one RP where I was trying to survive with others from a psychopathic killer student... I dont RP anymore since I've never actually been a hardcore roleplayer, but I get brought back into it occasionally by my friend when we act out our Roblox ocs.
